DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE

Early Childhood Educators assist in caring for the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings. Early Childhood Educators can have a profound influence on a child’s wellbeing and development especially in the years of 0-5.

Qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care focus on the core skills, knowledge and experience required to effectively assess the strengths and interests of children designing meaningful experiences that facilitate the child’s growth and development.

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so, they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

International-

  • Australian Global College has the following entry requirements:
    International students must:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs.
  • Have an IELTS* score of 5.5 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
  • Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
  • Successful completion of an English Placement Test
  • *Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. Students are required to provide their results so that it can be confirmed they are equivalent to IELTS 5.5
  • Students will complete a LLN Robot English test prior to the Introduction/orientation day. This will identify if the student requires additional support with their learning

Successful completion of this program may assist students to gain entry into further study programs and / or contribute towards study credits.

This qualification requires the student to hold a current and satisfactory police check and Working with Children Check to be able to undertake 240 hours of work placement.

Before you begin your work placement, we will check that the workplace has all of the essential facilities and equipment, and we will also discuss the tasks you will accomplish with your work placement provider.
